St Peter's Carol and Crib Services 2013

The Candlelit Carol Service at St. Peter's Church, Monkton Farleigh was very well attended. The Reindeer were at the door to welcome people, many of whom came early to be sure of a seat!

A welcome from the reindeer ...
Rev Ann Keating led this special service, which also featured children from Churchfields – The Village School, singing 'Mary's Boy Child' and 'The Zither Carol', and then The Village Singers singing 'Jesus Christ the Apple Tree".
... and the Rector
The service was followed with mulled wine and mince pies, (plus chocolates for the children)! Our thanks go to all those who helped to decorate the church with greenery and candles and a beautiful tree.
A lovely occasion

On Christmas Eve there was a Crib Service led by Pat Ellis, which involved the children creating the story of Christmas, as one by one they brought the figures to the stable.

Finally they gathered round the stable, holding their lanterns, singing 'Away in a Manger'.
