Harvest 2014

We were blest with fine weather for Harvest Sunday this year. At all our churches, harvest offerings are being donated to local charity Abalare so offerings were items they always need - tea bags, coffee, sugar, jams, cereals, biscuits, tinned food plus shower gel, tooth paste and toilet rolls. They may not be the traditional fruit and vegetables that used to be brought, but will benefit the vulnerable people that Alabare helps.

As usual the flower arrangements were lovely

At the Christ Church service there was a lovely harvest loaf, complete with harvest mouse together with a basket of grapes from Bernard and Judith's garden.

This was followed by a harvest BBQ and bring and share lunch in the Lambert Centre organised by Christ Church Friends. The weather was so warm that many of the 30-plus folk sat and ate outside, and great for the families with children as they were able to play outside while the grown ups were chatting.
