A group of volunteers met last Saturday at the start of a project to improve the churchyard of St Peter’s, Monkton Farleigh.
The result of the work has been to open up the wonderful views from the churchyard across the surrounding countryside to the White Horse at Westbury. We hope this will be appreciated by those who come to the churchyard to remember loved ones as well as others wishing to enjoy the peaceful setting.

It was not all hard work though as we enjoyed some delicious home-made cakes and chatting with friends whilst caring for our churchyard.

There is still plenty more to do and the working party will meet again at 10.00am on Saturday, 8 November 2014 to clear away a large compost heap which is slowly encroaching on the lower churchyard. All are welcome to come along and help.
